DESIGN
At Terrain, we want to help you bring your dream garden to life or assist in reviving an existing one. We offer consultation, design + enhancement proposals for your restoration, renovation or new visions. Our goal is to bring your ideas to blossom, reinvigorate your space, and present new concepts that enrich your landscape thoughtfully and in service of the entire “terrain”!
-
INSTALLATION
Let us bring your designs to life! Breaking ground on a new idea is one of our favorite components to this field. Even if breathing life into an older space. From concept to completion, we specialize in plantings, stonework, irrigation / drainage solutions & lawn alternatives.
-
CONTAINERS & DECOR
A big part of Terrain’s production is with Containers and Seasonal Decor. Garden containers can provide color, texture, depth and scale to spaces otherwise inaccessible for plantings. As an accent or solution, we can design and install seasonal interest to any small space with year round designs for floral and edible preferences. From providing important “highways” for pollinators, to simple well being, to adding Seasonal color to your curb appeal or to celebrate and welcome the festive times of year with fun decor!

MICHELLE WELCH
CO - OWNER / HEAD HONCHO
Michelle has always been a lover of the outdoors and all things nature. She spent twenty five years working as a certified veterinary technician and animal trainer. In 2020, her training space was leased and abruptly closed leaving a question of what to do next. Instead of continuing in the animal field, she took the opportunity to shift gears and follow her other life long passion of gardening and design. She spent the next two years advancing her horticulture training as a fine gardener and container specialist professionally. When not in the garden, Michelle loves hiking, home renovations and spending time with her husband, daughters and their many pets.

Her next stop was Brooklyn, NY as the lead gardener for a 17 acre woodland habitat restoration surrounding the park’s new Lakeside Center. Diana has certifications from Cornell’s Redwood Tree Climbing Institute and the Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop. Her diverse work path has led her back home to cultivate her own business! In her spare time, “Di” loves hiking, camping, designing women’s workwear and spending time with family, friends and Michelle’s pets!
